Gastritis over & over again?

My children (1 and 2 yrs.) started having diarrhea right before christmas 2010. It seemed to last unusually long, lasting about 2 weeks. When I took them to the dr., I was told it was just gastritis, and normal to last that long. I started getting sick at this time too, with diarrhea, vomiting, gas, heartburn, belching,etc.. I thought I just caught whatever my children had. I would feel better for a day or so, and then be sick again. I went to the dr numerous times, and was prescribed many different medicines for acid reflux. After months and months of always being sick, I had I think an ECG...where they put the camera down my throat to look into my stomach...and I was told I had a hernatal hernia and gastritis. I kept taking my new medicine and watching my diet and I finally started feeling better. Now, it's July 2011, about 8 months later, and my kids have once again started with this long-lasting diarrhea and I have been started to get sick like last time. What's going on!!!
